On Monday 19th September, IDIBELL science communicators attended Campus Gutenberg, the main event on science outreach and communication in Catalunya. This event brings together many scientists, journalists and communicators from the science communication, education and outreach spheres. During two days, the CosmoCaixa Science Museum of Barcelona is filled with conferences, workshops, panel discussions and other activities open to all attendees.
Within this context, IDIBELL science communicators presented the STARS Game project and the escape room as a part of a special session on gamification, where another two pannelists explained their gamification projects. The audience was very interested in the project, as was shown by their various questions on IDIBELL’s experience as well as on the other partners’. A debate was opened together with the other three pannelists of the session, where issues such as the platform used or the target age group were discussed.
After the multiplier event by Helmholtz, this has been the second one to take place. The next one will be AIRC in December. These events are very important for the project to reach other entities and institutions and, in the end, help giving more students the chance to learn about biomedical research by having a fun time playing the STARS Game escape room.
