On June 25, 2022, the STARS GAME team from Helmholtz Munich was at a special event: the forscha – Munich Science Days. Here, children and young people can discover a lot together with their parents, school classes and teachers. Interesting exhibitions, exciting games and cool experiments are just a part of it.
Helmholtz Munich used the occasion to organize a workshop to present the STARS GAME project. The target group was teachers from all types of schools who taught young people aged 10 to 13. Five teachers who teach science subjects and two high school students participated in the workshop.
First, the science communicators from Helmholtz Munich welcomed the participants and introduced the STARS GAME project. The partner organizations, the goals and learning approaches of the project as well as the story of the Escape Room and how it works were explained. Afterwards, the teachers and students became active themselves: they divided into groups and played one room of the Escape Room each. Afterwards, the groups came together and exchanged their impressions. They discussed what the participants liked and what could be improved. In addition, the teachers named points of reference for their own lessons.
With this important feedback, we go back to work and look forward to implementing as much as possible.
